Wah-lah! A whole desserts table decorated with marshmallows perfect for an Easter or Springtime get-together. This is my latest project for KRAFT Jet-Puffed marshmallows. THE PARTY WITH AMY LOCURTO

Rainbow-Butterfly-pops-The Marshmallow Studio

A few weeks ago, you guys might remember me talking about a super cool secret project I was making pops for. I shared a few sneak peek photos on my Instagram profile. Then a couple of weeks ago I was able to share what the big mystery was all about and who and what they were for.

I had made marshmallow flowers and butterflies to match Amy Locurto’s new Rainbow Party Collection from her new line with Pebbles, Inc.¬†¬†She was having a booth at the 2013 Craft and Hobby Association Winter Tradeshow and wanted to display them in her booth along her beautiful new bright paper goods. Of course I was honored she asked me and jumped right into this opportunity. It’s not everyday someone you totally admire asks you for something.

Here are a few screen shots I saved from other’s posts:

MARSHMALLOW ROSE BOUQUET

Valentines Day Pink Rose Bouquet by TMS for JP

February¬†is my favorite month out of the year for so many reasons – it’s my birthday, my son Keiran was born, Valentine’s Day and it’s a short month! This year, I don’t seem to be as excited as usual about it, probably because I’m getting older and I’m starting to see wrinkles and gray hair :( Oh well, it’s life and I still have health, a family ,and a roof over my head… so it’s all good right?!

Anyways….. as Valentine’s Day draws near, I’m starting to see hearts, rose bouquets, boxes of chocolates and plush animals everywhere. It all got me thinking about what I should do for my Jet-Puffed marshmallow special project. The answer was right in front of me – ROSES! ¬†Not just any roses, but MARSHMALLOW ROSES :)

Here’s a confession, I don’t like real flowers. For many reasons – they die, they’re high maintenance, they’re expensive and ¬†then you have to clean the moldy vase. I’m more of a silk flower kind of girl. ¬†I know, I’m weird like that. These marshmallow roses are perfect for me because, they won’t perish, they won’t discolor, they won’t die, and they can look pretty on my desk year-round. Marshmallows get rock hard if not kept in an air-tight containers so in a few weeks these will be like rock candy. Pretty candy art!

I absolutely loved loved loved how they turned out.

GINGERBREAD-MARSHMALLOW VILLAGE

Christmas is my favorite holiday for so many reasons… I get to wear my cozy gear, go play in the snow, decorate the house, celebrate with family and friends, bake goodies, experience magical moments with my boys, and so much more. ¬†As you can already imagine, I also love all the seasonal marshmallows that are available at this time of year.

Another thing that makes Christmas so fun for me is Gingerbread. Yes, gingerbread cookies, houses, lattes, and flavorings. As you may remember, last year I made a Gingerbread-Marshmallow North Pole Cabin for a contest Candy.com was having and I actually WON! This year, I wanted to do another gingerbread-marshmallow house but do it a little different. I decided to make a whole village!!

THANKSGIVING MARSHMALLOW FONDANT CAKE

First off let me start off by saying Happy Thanksgiving! Every year I have soooo much to be thankful for and this year in particular I am thankful for the many blessing marshmallows have brought to our lives. I won’t get too mushy on you guys but definitely want you to know I appreciate each and every one of you and your continued support means the world to me. I’m thankful for you!!

Now, remember the¬†Pumpkin Spice Marshmallow Fondant¬†DIY tutorial I posted a few weeks back? Well…. I want to show you what I ended up using it for.¬†It was my very very first time making marshmallow fondant and using it. Can’t believe it took me this long to get familiar with it and now I love it! I had such a blast playing and experimenting with it. I am no Brittany (Edible Details), Lynlee (Lynlee’s Petite Cakes), Rachel (Fondant Flinger) or Brenda (Sugar High, Inc.) but I must say I impressed myself with my new found fondant skills haha…. I guess all those episodes I watched of Food Network Challenge and Cake Boss did pay off.

I started off by just playing around, cutting out shapes with cookie cutters, and trying to mold little 3D figurines.

See what else I made below….

HAPPY HALLOWEEN MARSHMALLOW PUMPKIN

During my son’s preschool teacher-parent conference his teachers asked me what did a “marshmallow designer” do?? They were¬†intrigued¬†after seeing my occupation listed on the school records. I smiled and said “I make all kinds of stuff with marshmallows!” That only seemed to have fueled their curiosity even more. They immediately asked me if I’d like to bring in something to their upcoming Halloween party. Well you guys know me…. I love challenges and having an excuse to play with marshmallows :)
