I had been wanting to make marshmallow fondant for almost 3 years now but I never actually took the time to look up a recipe and give it a shot. As crazy as that may sound, maybe I’ve seen too many cake show competitions LOL but fondant just intimidated me to the point that I felt if it didn’t come out right I’d feel like a total fake “marshmallow expert”. Well, last night I decided to put my fears behind me and just do it!
I cannot tell you how fun it was to create this piece. I used over 14 different Jet-Puffed marshmallows and lots of royal icing and colored sugar. I also added a few Twizzlers, Oreo cookie crumbs and Wilton sprinkles to complete the scene. I knew I wanted to make a haunted house but, as you know me, I had to go all the say so I also included a cemetery and a pumpkin patch.
Can you see the ghosts inside the house?? That was my favorite part

Wowzers!!!!!!!!!!!! Is the above really my cake on Cake Central Magazine??? Yes, it is
I few months back I was surprised with an email inviting me to submit a “wedding piece” inspired by the inspiration board above. At first I was ecstatic then the panic sunk in… I realized I’d be submitting my work to a magazine filled with amazing eye-candy from professional sugar artist and honorable cake decorators from around the world. I kind of freaked out but took a deep breath and acted as if I knew what I was doing.
When I first hear Jet-Puffed Marshmallows was coming out with a new product that would be shaped like an ice cream cone and the flavors would include vanilla, strawberry, chocolate and sugar cone…. I was very anxious to get them in my hands and try them out.

I fell in love and after eating a bag (or two) I thought I’d introduce this product to the marshmallow community by making a large Triple Ice Cream Scoop Sugar Cone art piece using these adorable little marshmallows.
Here’s what I made:

What better way to make this announcement than with marshmallows? I wanted to make this announcement extra special so I ‘mallorized the JET-PUFFED logo. We used a 48″ X 36″ board, mini marshmallows, MallowBits and StackerMallows. My husband and I had actually had a pretty good time making this together!
With the weather heating up, it’s only natural to dream about the beach. We are fortunate to live in San Diego, California where we can drive 5 minutes and be by the ocean. This was my inspiration for this marshmallow scene.
Can you guess how many kinds of marshmallows we used? Read on for answer…
